The e x t a n t a t i o n Artist-In-Residence (AIR) program in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is a secondary residency open to multidisciplinary, performance, sound, media artists, musicians, filmmakers, and writers with critical and experimental practices. Located on the margins where urbanism meets countryside, it offers a process-oriented space for artists to immerse in the local reality, disconnect from usual environments, and reflect on their context. Facilities include a private bedroom, optional 40m2 studio suitable for small performances or computer-based work, a bicycle, art scene introduction, and airport pickup, with residencies typically lasting 1-4 weeks for a fee.

The Land Foundation is an artist residency and experimental community space initiated in 1998 near Chiang Mai, Thailand, centered around cultivated rice fields. It promotes artistic and cultural activities, natural farming, and self-knowledge through Vipassana meditation, functioning as an open space for social engagement, community discussions, and artistic experimentation without formal ownership structures.
