The Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program (RAiR), established over fifty years ago, offers a unique and generous opportunity for artists to focus on their creative work for a full year. Located in Roswell, New Mexico, this residency is designed for artists at various stages of their careers, providing them with a private 3-bedroom house, an attached studio, and a monthly stipend. The program emphasizes the importance of solitude and self-motivation for artistic development, offering minimal obligations beyond respecting the facilities and the privacy of fellow artists. Additionally, artists have the option to present their work at the Roswell Museum and potentially have a piece purchased for the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art's permanent collection.
