Residencia Epecuén (Epecuen)

Residencia Epecuén is an international artist residency located in Carhué, Buenos Aires, Argentina, on the shores of Lake Epecuén. Designed for artists, curators, and researchers, the program focuses on site-specific and ephemeral art practices in relation to history, landscape, and memory. Over 14 days, participants engage in field research, guided workshops, and curatorial support to develop projects that interact with the ruins of Epecuén and the surrounding environment. The residency encourages artistic exploration across various disciplines, including performance, sound art, photography, video, sculpture, ceramics, writing, and experimental theater. Residents benefit from a structured program including historical site visits, guided discussions, portfolio reviews, and open studio exhibitions.
