AGA LAB

AGA LAB offers an Artist in Residence (AiR) program in Amsterdam, designed to foster research and experimentation in the field of printing techniques, color, and image carriers. With facilities that promote non-toxic methods and an urban agricultural garden cultivating ink plants, AGA LAB provides a unique context for artistic development. The residency is available to both national and international artists who can apply directly or be invited based on a specific proposal. Accommodations include two guest rooms within the Broedplaats BOUW artist space where the studio is also located, allowing 24-hour access. Residents also enjoy exchange opportunities with (inter)national colleagues and access to a communal kitchen.

Art Futures

The Art Futures Fellowship is a prestigious program located in Athens, Greece, with an additional residency in Zutphen, the Netherlands. B32 Artspace, an independent initiative founded in 2002, offers a dynamic residency program for artists interested in engaging with the unique context of Maastricht. Located in the former community center of De Ravelijn, B32 provides an 8 by 15 meter space for artists to work and present their projects. The residency aims to foster interaction with the local community and can include various presentation formats such as talks, screenings, performances, open studios, and workshops. Artists receive a stipend of 1000 EUR and a project budget up to 1000 EUR. The residency period ranges from 10 days to 6 weeks, with optional accommodation in a private room within a shared apartment. B32 supports research-driven, participatory, and site-specific practices, encouraging artists to contribute to and benefit from the vibrant cultural environment of Maastricht.

European Ceramic Workcentre (EKWC)

European Ceramic Workcentre (EKWC), located in Oisterwijk, The Netherlands, annually welcomes around 60 creative professionals from various disciplines worldwide. The residency provides accommodation, studios, workshops, advanced equipment, and guidance from experienced advisors. Each work period lasts twelve weeks, allowing residents to focus on their individual practice, conduct research, experiment, and engage with fellow artists, designers, and staff. The residency supports a continuously evolving community, with a new resident starting and completing their stay each week. Residents range from emerging to established artists, including those new to ceramics. The EKWC encourages residents to embrace new experiences and ask questions. The residency includes a rigorous selection process, aiming for a diverse and inclusive environment.

Jan van Eyck Academie (JVE)

Maastricht, Netherlands

The Jan van Eyck Academie, based in Maastricht, the Netherlands, offers an 11-month residency program welcoming around 45 participants annually from various disciplines including visual arts, design, architecture, curation, and writing. The residency aims to foster an environment of artistic growth, critical engagement, and collaborative exploration. Participants are provided with private studios, access to well-equipped labs (Food, Material Matters, Photography & Audiovisual, Printing & Publishing, Future Materials), and support from advisors. The program encourages the development of individual projects and contributions to the academy’s public program. Participants receive a monthly stipend of €1,000 and an annual working budget of €2,000. The residency is structured to support the participants’ professional and artistic development in a stimulating, interdisciplinary community.
