Casa de Velázquez, part of the Académie de France in Madrid, offers various artist-in-residence programs throughout the year, hosting between 25 and 30 artists. The residencies range from long-term (11 months) to short-term (2 to 6 months) and are open to artists of various disciplines including architecture, visual arts, video art, choreography, film, music composition, and photography. These programs are designed to support artists in developing their work related to the Iberian Peninsula. Additionally, Casa de Velázquez provides a 3-year practice-led research artistic doctoral contract for PhD candidates registered at French universities. Various partner-funded grants are also available through collaborations with public and private institutions.

Situated in the remote area above Alojera, the residency provides scenic ocean views, a lush garden, and several comfortable living and work spaces. Accommodations include a main house and guest cottages with shared and private room options, alongside communal spaces like the terrace and garden for dining and relaxation. The program fosters a sense of community, with shared meals and opportunities for informal idea exchange, yet allows residents ample independence. Casa Tagumerche is self-funded, with residents covering a daily accommodation fee and food costs.

The Artists in Residence Program at CCA Andratx, established for over two decades, stands as a pillar of cultural interaction and creative expression in Mallorca, Spain. Situated in the scenic foothills of the Tramuntana Mountains, this program annually invites a diverse group of international artists to explore and develop their artistic visions in a supportive, unrestricted environment. Each month, four artists are given the opportunity to immerse themselves in this dynamic setting, which not only fosters individual creativity but also enriches the local art scene through contributions from global artists. With more than 800 alumni from 20 countries, the program celebrates its profound impact on the global art community by encouraging cultural exchange and artistic freedom.

DOM

DOM Art Residence operates as a nomadic art residency, uniquely unattached to any single location, which reflects the transient nature of today’s socio-political environment. This model not only fosters creativity but also enables the residency to meet new audiences and explore various cultural contexts each session. Typically running once or twice a year for a one-month period, the program invites 12 artists to participate in a project-oriented format which culminates in a final exhibition showcasing the artists' work. Each session is themed to encourage artists to engage with relevant and provocative topics, for the 2024 session in Spain, the theme is "scenarios of the future". DOM supports artists by covering accommodation, travel expenses, and the cost of production materials, thus removing financial barriers and fostering an environment purely focused on creative exploration. The selection process for participants is twofold: partially by invitation and partially through an open call, which encourages a diverse mix of artists. DOM values communication and expects artists to engage with the local public through various cultural and educational programs that run concurrently with their studio work. This interaction enriches the residency experience, providing both artists and the public with valuable insights and exchanges.

Espai Souvenir in Barcelona, Spain, hosts a dynamic Summer Residency for visual artists across various disciplines including drawing, installation, video art, sculpture, painting, performance, and photography. This residency is open to artists of all nationalities and offers a vibrant creative environment in the Gracia district, known for its cultural liveliness. Artists are provided with individual studio spaces, 24-hour access to the gallery, and can participate in local cultural activities and open studios.
