The Pier-2 Art Center Artist-in-Residence Program (PAIR), located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, offers a dynamic and supportive environment for artists to create, exhibit, and collaborate. Situated in the Dayi Warehouse section of the Pier-2 Art Center, this residency provides artists with a 33-square-meter creation space and a 17-square-meter attic living space. The program emphasizes engagement with Kaohsiung’s local culture, geographic environment, and social conditions, encouraging artists to produce works that reflect these themes. Participants will benefit from studio and living spaces, a daily living allowance, material fees, and transportation costs covered. The residency spans four seasons, with stays ranging from 60 to 85 days. Artists are expected to participate in community engagement activities, such as workshops and exhibitions, and to leave behind an artwork or record of their residency. Applications are open to both local and international artists with at least two years of experience. The residency fosters an environment rich in artistic and cultural resources, promoting creative exchanges and collaborations.
