Prairieside Outpost hosts a competitive, family-friendly artist residency program in Matfield Green, Kansas, welcoming 2-3 visual artists and writers each year since for short creative retreats of 7-10 days. The program provides a private cottage, separate studio, and access to 8 acres of tallgrass prairie in the Flint Hills, emphasizing a peaceful, nature-oriented environment without output requirements. It prioritizes artists new to the region and supports family accompaniment in a uniquely inclusive setting.
