**YAHAHA International Residency for the Arts in Taiwan (YAHAHA)** is an international artist residency program located in the natural hills of Nantou, Taiwan, conducted in English and Mandarin. It offers 3-month seasonal periods in Spring (March-May), Summer (June-August), and Winter (October-December), hosting 3-6 artists who focus on collective experiences through seasonal themes, structured group activities like workshops, excursions, daily chores (cooking, cleaning), communal play (movie nights, hikes), and collaborative publication production. The program emphasizes living and working together to build relationships, creative problem-solving, and cross-disciplinary skills, differing from independent-focused residencies by prioritizing communal life alongside individual practice. It is designed for international artists open to group living and collective programming, legally registered in April 2024 with a trial in July 2024 and first full period in October-December 2024. Spring/Summer feature outdoor/physical activities, while Winter focuses on indoor/contemplative ones; artists facilitate audience engagement and retain a copy of the seasonal publication documenting the residency.
